The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), a statutory body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, invites applications for its Internship Programme for the quarter beginning July 2025.
About FSSAI
FSSAI is the apex body for regulating and supervising food safety in India. This internship offers a unique learning opportunity across diverse domains of food regulation and administration.
Eligibility Criteria
Students pursuing a full-time Graduate/Post Graduate/Higher Degree from a recognized institution in India or abroad in any of the following fields may apply:
- Technical Disciplines: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Food Science & Nutrition, Edible Oil Technology, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Horticulture, Toxicology, Public Health, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Fruit & Vegetable Technology, Food Safety & Quality Assurance.
- Management & Allied Fields: Business Administration, Management, Finance, Taxation Law, Marketing, Psychology, Human Resource, Economics, Statistics, ICT, Entrepreneurship.
- Media & Communication: Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations.
- IT & Policy: B.E./B.Tech (3rd or 4th year) in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering; Postgraduate in Public Policy or Public Administration (only for FSSAI HQ).
- Law & Commerce: Bachelor/Master of Law, Bachelor of Commerce & equivalent.
Note: Students who have completed their courses are not eligible.
Duration
- Minimum: 2 months
- Maximum: 6 months
- Quarterly intake throughout the year.
Internship Locations & Areas of Work
- FSSAI HQ, New Delhi: HR, IT, Quality Assurance, Imports, Legal, Science & Standards, Finance, General Administration, RTI, Library, Procurement.
- Regional Offices: Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata – Focus on Food Imports and Licensing.
- National Food Laboratories (NFLs): Ghaziabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Raxaul – Food Sampling and Testing.

- Recommendation letter from institute with “No Objection Certificate”

Stipend
- INR 10,000 for the complete internship (based on performance and attendance)
Certification
- A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion and report submission, evaluated by divisional heads.
