ABOUT THE MP
Sujeet Kumar is a Member of Parliament representing Odisha in the Rajya Sabha. He is also a lawyer and social entrepreneur. He previously served as the Advisor to the Special Development Council (SDC) of the Government of Odisha and as Special Secretary of the Odisha State Planning Board.
He is the Founder and Mentor of LexMantra, a full-service legal consulting firm providing legal solutions to domestic and overseas corporations, multinational companies, multilateral and government agencies, investors, and individuals.
He is also the Founder and Mentor of Kalinga Kusum, a social enterprise working on challenges relating to education and legal empowerment in rural communities in India.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Applications are open for the November cohort of interns at the MP’s office in New Delhi.
The internship provides an opportunity to work with the team on:
- Research.
- Drafting.
- The daily business of Parliament.
- Other research projects undertaken by the office.
The programme is open not only to law or political science students but also to candidates from other academic and professional backgrounds. The office particularly values the ability to approach policy problems from diverse perspectives.
The selection process also places emphasis on getting to know applicants and understanding their work, given the close-knit working environment of the office.
