OVERVIEW

Jus Corpus proposes to organise the Virtual Legal Quiz Competition 2026, an online legal knowledge competition for law students, legal professionals, judiciary aspirants, CLAT PG aspirants and legal enthusiasts. The competition will test core legal knowledge, landmark judgments, legal maxims, current legal developments and application of legal principles through a two-round format.

Jus Corpus Virtual Legal Quiz Competition 2026 is a national-level online legal knowledge competition designed for law students, legal professionals, judiciary aspirants, CLAT PG aspirants and legal enthusiasts. The competition will test participants across Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Contract Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Corporate & Commercial Law, Arbitration & ADR, Current Legal Affairs, Landmark Judgments, Legal Maxims and General Legal Awareness.

The competition will consist of a Preliminary Round featuring 30 MCQs, followed by an Advanced Grand Finale comprising 25 questions, including case-based questions, landmark judgment identification and current legal affairs. Participants will compete for cash prizes, certificates, internship opportunities, publication benefits and exclusive course discounts.

MODE OF COMPETITION

  • Online mode.
  • Individual participation; no teams are required.
  • It will be conducted through Google Forms or a dedicated quiz platform.
  • Participants qualifying in the Preliminary Round will proceed to the Grand Finale.

Criminal Law: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023; Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023; Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023; criminal liability; offences and punishments; criminal procedure; evidence; doctrines; landmark criminal judgments.

Contract Law: Indian Contract Act, 1872; offer and acceptance; consideration; capacity; free consent; void and voidable agreements; performance and discharge; breach and remedies; indemnity and guarantee; bailment and pledge; agency.

Intellectual Property Rights: Copyright; patents; trademarks; geographical indications; designs; trade secrets; enforcement; international conventions; landmark IP judgments.

Corporate & Commercial Law: Companies Act, 2013; corporate governance; directors and shareholders; corporate personality and liability; Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code; securities regulation; commercial transactions; restructuring; major developments.

Arbitration & ADR: Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996; Mediation Act, 2023; arbitration agreements; appointment and jurisdiction of arbitrators; proceedings; awards; enforcement; institutional arbitration; mediation; landmark ADR judgments.

Current Legal Affairs: Significant Supreme Court and High Court developments; legislation and amendments; constitutional developments; legal appointments; regulatory developments; major national and international legal developments.

Landmark Judgments: Facts and background; legal issues; ratio decidendi; constitutional provisions; principles established; identification of judgments from factual or legal clues.

Legal Maxims: Meaning and application of important maxims such as audi alteram partem, nemo judex in causa sua, ubi jus ibi remedium, res ipsa loquitur, volenti non fit injuria, actus non facit reum nisi mens sit rea and others.

General Legal Awareness: Indian judicial system; courts and tribunals; legal institutions; important statutes; terminology; constitutional and statutory authorities; legal personalities; basic legal concepts; Bar and Bench.

COMPETITION STRUCTURE

Round I – Preliminary Round
  • 30 Multiple Choice Questions
  • Duration: 10 minutes
  • Online and individual participation
  • Questions may cover direct legal knowledge, concepts, case law, statutory provisions, current legal affairs, landmark judgments and legal maxims.

Qualification: Top-performing participants will qualify for the Grand Finale. The exact number of qualifiers may be determined based on total registrations. In case of identical scores, time taken may be considered, subject to the final rules.

Round II – Grand Finale
  • 25 advanced questions
  • Case-based legal questions
  • Landmark judgment identification
  • Current legal affairs
  • Advanced legal knowledge and application-based questions
  • Tie-breaker questions/round, if required.

Tie-Breaker: Where participants are tied for a position or qualification, ranking may be determined by score, time taken and/or performance in a tie-breaker round, as applicable.

REGISTRATION

  • Participants can register through the Jus Corpus website or the official Google Form.
  • Participants will be required to provide accurate details including name, email, mobile number, institution/organisation, course/profession and other information necessary for communication and certification.

  • In case of a tie, the prescribed tie-breaking mechanism will be applied.
  • The organisers reserve the right to modify the schedule or competition format where circumstances require.
