About the Organisation
Square Circle Clinic is a premier criminal justice initiative functioning under NALSAR University of Law. The Clinic operates from New Delhi, Pune, Nagpur, and Hyderabad and is deeply engaged in pro bono legal defence for death row inmates and undertrial prisoners.
In addition to litigation support, the Clinic undertakes rigorous interdisciplinary research in areas such as forensics, mental health, torture, legal aid systems, and criminal justice reform.
About the Internship
Square Circle Clinic offers a structured and professionally enriching paid internship programme aimed at providing interns with meaningful exposure to criminal justice issues in India. Interns are selected on a rolling basis, strictly in accordance with the Clinic’s internship policy.
Eligibility Criteria
The internship is open to students currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in the following disciplines:
- Law
- Humanities
- Social Sciences
- Psychology
- Psychiatry
- Media and Communication
Stipend
- ₹10,000 – Full-time internship (per 4 weeks)
- ₹5,000 – Part-time internship
Duration
- Full-time: 4 to 12 weeks
- Part-time: Minimum 12 weeks
Location
- New Delhi
- Pune
- Nagpur
Mode of Internship
- In-person internships are strongly preferred
- Requests for remote internships will be considered only in exceptional circumstances
Application Deadline
Applicants must apply at least two months in advance of the intended internship start date.
Example: For an internship commencing on 1 March 2026, applications must be submitted by 31 January 2026.
