Gujarat Maritime University (GMU) is inviting applications from qualified legal professionals for an opportunity with DG Shipping to contribute to the Seafarers Welfare Fund Society (SWFS) and the Seamen’s Provident Fund Organisation (SPFO), Mumbai.
About the Opportunity
The selected candidates will contribute to India’s maritime governance framework by supporting the welfare, rights, and social security of the seafaring community.
Eligibility Criteria
• LL.M. in Maritime Law / Public International Law / Labour Law / Contract Management / Arbitration from a recognised institution.
• Minimum 1–2 years of post-qualification legal experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide legal support to the Seafarers Welfare Fund Society (SWFS).
• Assist the Seamen’s Provident Fund Organisation (SPFO) on legal matters.
• Contribute to maritime governance and regulatory initiatives.
• Support legal frameworks relating to the welfare and rights of seafarers.
