About the Opportunity:
Proplex is hiring a Senior Lawyer – Real Estate Practice for its Bengaluru office.
The firm is looking for a lawyer with 2–5 years of post-qualification experience to join its Real Estate Practice in Bengaluru.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience and a strong understanding of Bengaluru/Karnataka real estate laws, property documentation, title due diligence, and registration processes.
The candidate should also be capable of independently handling property-related legal assignments and providing end-to-end documentation support.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and vet various property-related legal documents, including:
- Sale Deeds
- Sale Agreements
- Lease Deeds
- Gift Deeds
- Relinquishment/Release Deeds
- Joint Development Agreements
- Collaboration Agreements
- Powers of Attorney
- Other real estate-related documents
- Conduct comprehensive title due diligence, including review of:
- Chain of title documents
- Encumbrance Certificates
- Ownership records
- Mutation and Khata documents
- Revenue records
- Conversion orders
- Government approvals
- Other property-related documents
- Provide legal opinions and identify potential risks, discrepancies, and documentation gaps.
- Coordinate with clients, developers, government authorities, Sub-Registrar Offices, and other stakeholders for the smooth execution of transactions.
- Advise clients on:
- Stamp duty and registration requirements
- Property transfer procedures
- Documentation compliances under Karnataka laws
- Manage client communication, legal research, and drafting assignments.
- Support end-to-end property transactions.
Candidate Requirements:
- LL.B. degree from a recognised university.
- Enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
- 2–5 years of post-qualification experience in Real Estate/Property Law.
- Strong knowledge of Bengaluru/Karnataka property laws and registration procedures.
- Excellent drafting, research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage legal assignments and client interactions.
- Knowledge of Kannada will be an added advantage.
