About the Opportunity:

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position to work on cutting-edge research exploring new aspects of the economics of cities, using advanced quantitative models and datasets from Denmark and other countries. The role will be under the supervision of Professor Daniel Sturm, Dr. Sara Bagagli, and Dr. Giorgio Pietrabissa.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates planning to pursue a PhD in Economics or related fields, and who wish to gain strong, hands-on research experience.

Position Details:

Role: Research Assistant
Field: Economics / Quantitative Research
Location: United Kingdom (some flexibility for in-office presence if already UK-based)
Start Date: Summer or Early Autumn 2026 (flexible)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Economics or a related quantitative discipline (to be completed by start date).
  • Strong interest in economic research and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Advanced experience with STATA and R for analysing large-scale microdata.
  • Ability to learn new programming tools efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data work.
  • Ability to analyse data patterns and think analytically about economic problems.

Work Authorization:

  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK or be eligible for visa sponsorship.
