About the Organization
Dard Se Humdard Tak Trust, based in Pune, is a social initiative dedicated to providing legal aid and spreading awareness of the justice system. The trust conducts various legal education programs to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world legal practice.
About the Internship
The trust is organizing an intensive offline internship program titled “Beyond the Textbook: Internship in Criminal Law and Legal Aid”, scheduled from 19th May to 14th June 2025 in Pune. This program aims to offer hands-on experience in criminal law and legal aid through real cases, courtroom exposure, and interaction with legal professionals.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to law students only
- Strong interest in criminal law, legal aid, and courtroom procedures
- Willingness to engage in practical learning and field assignments
Roles & Responsibilities
- Drafting bail and miscellaneous applications
- Interacting with police officials in criminal matters
- E-filing processes and court procedures
- Understanding plea bargaining and observing courtroom proceedings
- Conducting legal research, citation practices, and ethical considerations
- Writing on current legal topics and participating in the UTRC Program
- Enhancing communication, interpersonal skills, and using social media in legal practice
