ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Adv. Anurag Chaturvedi (Advocate, High Court of Calcutta and other Courts of Kolkata; Former Member-Judge, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (also served as its Acting President) Howrah/Bardhhaman.)

He has been a practising advocate since June 1991, before the Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta and other Courts in Kolkata and the nearby Districts. He is an entrepreneur turned advocate. He started by founding an extremely lucrative S.S.I. unit at the very young age of 21 completely on his own and after completing law, slowly transitioned into the legal practice. He had also founded an English-medium, C.B.S.E. affiliated school, by the name of Panchsheel Academy at Durg, Chhattisgarh and had served as its Founder-Secretary for some time. His educational qualifications are B.Sc., LL.B., E.D.P. Trained, Hons. Dip. A.S.M., C.C.A.P., Specialised Managerial Training Course in Export Management (conducted by the Govt. of India), Specialised Managerial Training Course in Packaging Management (conducted by the Govt. of India).

In the year 2001, while his wife Adv. Anjali Chaturvedi was already a Member-Judge of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (also served as its Acting President), Kolkata, Unit-II, he had been appointed as a Member-Judge of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Howrah and had also served as its Acting President. Later on, he got transferred to the Bardhhaman Forum. After serving as a Member-Judge, he returned to the Bar and continues to represent independent clients, nationalised banks, etc., in various matters before the various Courts in Kolkata and the nearby districts. He has an analytical approach for various laws and Acts enacted and tries to find out their bad impacts on the society which normally are ignored even by the legislators.
